Steve Wagner

President & Brewmaster

APPEARANCE:
Clear, amber, light colored head.
AROMA:
Hops with complex fruit and sweet malt. Burnt caramel, sugar.
FLAVOR:
Begins very sweet but hops and alcohol swoop in to balance and
finish is bitter. Needs some age to mold different flavors.
PALATE:
Very full-bodied with good carbonation level. Alcohol makes it a
little hot.
OVERALL:
Good sipper now, a little age will do it proud!

Lee Chase

Head Brewer

APPEARANCE:
Clear, orange, red, rust color.
AROMA:
Yeast and freshness give it a freezer aroma. Smells hoppy.
Surprisingly not alcoholic aroma.
FLAVOR:
Clean, too drinkable, but too strong. Balanced caramel. Soft.
PALATE:
Soft, not too thick mouthful, with noticeable carbonation (Co2
bite), but that passes with some swirling. As it warms the maltiness opens
(which will continue with age).
OVERALL:
Really tasty now, better after 6 months plus.

Greg Koch

Chairman & CEO

APPEARANCE:
Bright, clear, deep orange.
AROMA:
A really mild single malt and scotch character in the nose, coupled
with sweeter malt notes.
FLAVOR:
Bitterness starts off mild, for OG, but builds as you enjoy
successive sips.
PALATE:
In my opinion this is the mildest edition of OG we've ever brewed.
All the great OG characteristics, but dare I say friendlier! Just a couple
of months from now and I think it will be spot on.
OVERALL:
This is one of my favorite Stone Special Releases of the year.

Chris Cochran

Marketing & Promotions
APPEARANCE:
Deep reddish amber with a little orange hue and a miniscule head. The bubbles are super tight and flowing through the very viscous beer at a very slow pace.
AROMA:
Sugary-maple, plums and/or raisins…mixed with some earthy straw-like or nutty qualities.
FLAVOR:
Big hop bitterness and wonderful hop presence --- very alcoholic and warming.
PALATE:
Deceptively smooth for the strength (11.26%) with a biting hop character and alcohol warmth to match.
OVERALL:
Very young and certainly needs to age to be not as aggressive with the hops (unless you like that, which I do). I would suggest trying some now and definitely aging some for a couple years because this is a good one to cellar!

Dan Carey

New Glarus Brewing Company

APPEARANCE:
Orange, red.
AROMA:
Bready, malty, biscuity, alcohol. Very low hop aroma.
FLAVOR:
Strong bitterness, malt in background.
PALATE:
N/A
OVERALL:
This is a sipping beer. Wiskey'ish. Young.

Floris Delee

New Glarus Brewing Company
APPEARANCE:
Yellowish foam, nice. Red-brown deep color.
AROMA:
Caramel - not at all too much. Rich beer.
FLAVOR:
Young beer, sweet bold flavor. Very alcoholic, good hop accent.
PALATE:
N/A
OVERALL:
Needs more aging, too clean. Bitter note, floral. Looking very
nice. Caramel!

Wolfgang Roth

Rolec
APPEARANCE:
N/A
AROMA:
Caramel aroma, slight fruitiness.
FLAVOR:
Strong oak flavor, balanced. Strong alcohol flavor, bitterness is
lingering.
PALATE:
N/A
OVERALL:
Overall strong and alcoholic beer. Not quite finished...needs age.
