STONE BREWING WORLD BISTRO & GARDENS: Book and A Beer Club
THIS SUNDAY, MAY 4th @ 3pm
To boldly go where no book club has gone before (er, except for ours, that is), Stone Brewing Co. proudly announces another season of Book & A Beer Club...On the Grass! Once again we are inviting beer geeks and bookworms alike to participate in a monthly meeting that pairs awesome beer with lively intellectual discussion. The premise is simple: read a book and have some great conversation–and great beer!–in a beautiful outdoor setting. Oh, and for those of you who don't get around to actually doing the reading, not to worry, as the author himself will be there to fill you in! Joining us this month is none other than renowned actor/author, techno-geek evangelist and perennial keynote speaker at Trekkie conventions, Wil Wheaton. Wil's most recent book, The Happiest Days of Our Lives, will be up for discussion, and this evening's event is sure to be provocative, fun and enlightening. Wheaton is as well known these days for his prolific blogging, autobiographical writings and public speaking as he is for his roles in films such as Stand By Me and Toy Soldiers, and for playing the character of Ensign Crusher in Star Trek: The Next Generation. Additionally, he has done extensive work in independent films. So put away your gaming dice, turn off the PlayStation and come out to the Gardens for a great time. Don't miss it. Really...Don't! Guests are welcome to bring their own lawn chairs, and blankets will be provided for those without to keep you from grass-staining your chinos. An RSVP is appreciated (though not required) at 760.471.4999 x1700.

The book is now available to purchase at the Stone Company Store for $15.

Now enter American Craft Beer Week, beginning Monday, May 12th, which promotes all the great breweries in our own backyards. We can think of no better way to celebrate than to have our entire 32 tap lineup pouring nothing but awesome, locally brewed San Diego beers! Peter, our Beer Man in the Bistro, is hard at work getting breweries on board for the event and is putting together a beer menu which will be posted by May 1st. Rumor has it that he's getting some special casks to tap into as well! Here is a list of the outstanding breweries who will be on tap:

STONE BREWING WORLD BISTRO & GARDENS:
San Marcos High School Jazz Night
THE EVENING OF TUESDAY, MAY 27th
You want live music at the Stone World Bistro & Gardens? You got it! And as is usually the case around here, we are staging this event for a worthy cause. Tight budgets have cost many public schools their music programs. That's not cool. What IS cool is jazz. What's even cooler is that, by joining us tonight, you will be supporting San Marcos High School's music department, to which 15% of the evening's proceeds will be donated. Can you dig it? We knew that you could. In addition to the San Marcos High jazz ensemble's performance, a steel drum band will also be featured. Be there or, indeed, risk being square.

Greg's vblogs
HELP WANTED
You may have noticed that the frequency of postings for new episodes of "Greg's vBlogs" has been in significant decline over the past year. For many, this is a source of relief. Others may have been forced to seek alternative cures for insomnia. And for a select few...you've actually been wanting more new episodes, more often. And it is to you, the noble, brave and of questionable taste, that we send this communique. Most of the editing of Greg's vBlogs has been at the hand of Greg himself. He will fully admit that it is quite likely (read: absolutely certain) that there are folks out there that could do a MUCH better job. We're looking for someone who's a glutton for punishment...er, we mean "a talented fan of great beer who's interested in sharing their video editing skilz and helping to upgrade the frequency and quality of Greg's vBlogs." Greg can shoot the footage...sticking that damn little camera into everyone's face with reckless abandon at a moment's notice...but he needs help in taking each vBlog from raw footage to a finished vBlog. Is that you? Then email samples of your work to vblogeditor@stonebrewing.com

This list isn't even mentioning all the great growler fills, casks we pull out on a weekly basis, Lambic Sundays and more that we have going on all the time. Be sure to check the Stone Calendar of Events to stay up to date!
