It's A Wrap --- Stone 9th Anniversary Totals & More

Once again the Stone Anniversary Celebration & Invitational Beer Festival has come and gone... with a little pomp, a little circumstance, and A LOT of great beer. Everyone had an awesome time this year and plans are already in the works to make the Stone 10th Anniversary Celebration even better!

As everyone knows, each year the event raises some very needed funds for some very Worthy charities, and this year was no exception. We are proud to announce that over $62,000 was raised for the Boys & Girls Club of San Marcos, Palomar Family YMCA, Surfrider Foundation, and Fight ALD!

If you haven't seen the photos yet, be sure to check out this link on the Stone website.

Grande Cervezas
South Of The Border

Tijuana is famous for many things: Bull fights, street vendors, and tequila...but not beer...at least not GOOD beer! All that is about to change as Stone Brewing and Cerveceria Tijuana host the 1st Annual International Beer Festival in downtown Tijuana on October 22nd and 23rd. Join our friends from AleSmith, Pizza Port, Russian River, Paulaner, and more as we all take part in a multicultural celebration of beer with 8 different Mexican craft breweries!

You can purchase tickets in advance at the Stone Brewing Co. during normal giftshop hours, or at the gate. For more information please visit the website at www.tjbeerfest.com

Balboa Park's WorldBeat Cultural Center Hosts The 1st Annual San Diego Brewers Guild Festival

San Diego has some of the finest craft breweries in the world and recently garnished the tagline from CNNMoney.com as "the new hot spot for a cold one." On Saturday, November 5th come to Balboa Park (from 6:00pm to 10:00pm) and find out for yourself just how good the local brewing scene is as you explore a wide variety of local beers at the San Diego Brewers Guild Festival.

Beer enthusiasts will be able to sample beers from Oggi's, Alpine, Coronado, AleSmith, Ballast Point, Stone (of course), and many more as they listen to live Reggae music and enjoy a wide variety of foods. This event will raise money for the WorldBeat Cultural Center and advance tickets can be purchased online here.

Time To Double Your Pleasure
& Get Some Big Wood

As the leaves start to fall (we're told they do that somewhere) Arrogant Bastard Ale fans everywhere start planning ahead. Not preparing a Christmas list, not checking off things for Thanksgiving Dinner, but checking a list none-the-less.

This list comes from the Stone website and lists all the retailers that will be getting their allotment of OAKED Arrogant Bastard Ale 3Litres, and Double Bastard Ale 3Litres, along with the 22oz version. With this list Stone fans everywhere will inundate helpless retailers across the country and help empty their shelves of said brews in a matter of days!

The distribution list for OAKED Arrogant Bastard Ale and Double Bastard Ale will be posted by Tuesday, October 25th here. Bottles will begin hitting shelves Monday, October 31st.

A Challenge Was Proposed,
A Victor Crowned

A tradition we've started over the past three years with the Stone Anniversary Ale is having the Stone Crew submit words for the back of the bottle. Greg has the challenge of weaving these words into something meaningful, and this year asked for the assistance of our own Bryon Wischstadt. Once again they succeeded in making a mockery of the English language, but we weren't sure if anyone knew what the heck they were saying.

So, Stone presented "The Stone 9th Anniversary Ale Label Challenge... What's It All Mean?!?" Fans read the label online and told us what they thought Greg was trying to say. A large number of Stone fans submitted entries and then it was up to Greg Koch, Steve Wagner and Bryon Wischtadt to choose the best translations.

We would like to thank all the people that took the time to figure out what GK & Bryon were trying to say and congratulations to the winner who received invitations for four to a pre-opening event at the Stone Brewing World Bistro and Gardens! All the entries have been posted on the website and can be viewed by visiting this link

Don't Believe Everything You Read

Well, according to some of the beer industry publications you might think that this newsletter was written from a new office in our brand new brewery. However, that is not the case. Things are just a little behind...go figure...but not by much. By the time you prepare to light the Jack-O-Lantern and hand out candy at the end of the month, the Stone Crew should be preparing for the move into the new digs!

Be sure to keep an eye on the Stone website for updates on the moving schedule: including when we'll be open at the new place for our gift shop, tasting bar, and growler fill hours!
