GK in AK for the Alaskan Barley Wine Festival

Ever hear the phrase "Cold on the outside and warm on the inside?"

On January 17th and 18th that phrase will be taken to the extreme at the Alaskan Barley Wine Festival.

If the huskies can make the trip, load up the sled with snacks and join Stone Brewing CEO Greg Koch at this amazing event. This year's lineup of notables even includes a special appearance by Tom Dalldorf, editor and publisher of The Celebrator Beer News. Over 50 breweries from places like Alaska, the Pacific Northwest and exotic faraway locales like San Marcos, California will be represented at the Festival with over 175 beers and barley wines available for sampling. Stone Brewing offerings include the 2002 Old Guardian Barley Wine, Arrogant Bastard Ale, Stone Smoked Porter and Stone India Pale Ale. On Koch, on you huskies, mush, mush….

Just a few Arrogant Bastard Ale
3Litre bottles still available in limited locations

Turning your Super Bowl party into a Super Bottle party is one way to show your friends you live large. If rumors are true, a few Arrogant Bastard Ale 3Litre bottles are still hiding in some area stores. If you haven't grabbed one --- suitable for emptying on game day and commemorating on the mantle --- get going! Time is short. Locations of sightings are listed on the website in a top-secret location. Our standard denial about the location of secret information on our website can be viewed here. Many of the designs are sold out, but can be admired at http://www.arrogantbastard.com/news/3litre2002/index.html.

Super Sunday 'bundles' now on the Gift Shop

You may not be able to afford the price of a ticket, or even a hotdog and beer at the event, but for a lot less you can grab a "Stone Super Sunday Bundle"... A T-shirt, four pint glasses, ten coasters and a sticker assortment for the anti-tourist-gouging price of $28 bucks. Just try to do that at the stadium. Stone Brewing Co. and Arrogant Bastard Ale varieties both available.

Speaking of Super Sunday

This month's edition of Gourmet magazine has a wonderful article about "Beers that will make the Super Bowl crowd cheer." Take a guess on who gets a solid endorsement... San Diego County's very own Stone IPA! Remember to stock that fridge and take notice of our special tasting bar hours for SuperBowl weekend when your football-following friends arrive for the big game. We're open later on Saturday to accomodate you out of towners, growler fills and kegs for the game (remember to reserve kegs in advance!).

Special Super Bowl Hours for the
Stone Brewing Tasting Bar and Gift Shop:
