Steve Wagner
President & Brewmaster
APPEARANCE:
Black with tan head. |
AROMA:
Roastiness, alcohol, fruitiness. |
FLAVOR:
Nicely balanced between roast/hop bittering and sweet maltiness. |
PALATE:
Full bodied, coats the tongue and mouth. Low, but appropriate carbonation, roastiness lingers forever! |
OVERALL:
One of our better Imperial Russian Stouts–Well balanced with complex flavor combinations. Should age splendidly. |
|
|
Greg Koch
Chairman & CEO
APPEARANCE:
Black as sin. |
AROMA:
Roasty, alcohol, dark fruits. |
FLAVOR:
Comments going around with Steve, Mitch and John that this year's is not as sweet and they're happy about that. I agree. The body is not as thick to me, but I'm enjoying that right now. |
PALATE:
Interesting to taste the Stone 12th Anniversary Bitter Chocolate Oatmeal Stout immediately proceeding. The differences were stunning–I had imagined them more similar than they actually are. |
OVERALL:
Again, ultimately age able. We are loving this now. |

Chris Cochran
Marketing & Promotions
APPEARANCE:
Pitch black (but seems bright), nice tan head, great co2 and very "good looking" beer. |
AROMA:
Roasted coffee, caramel, and fruits . . . like a party at Grandma's house. |
FLAVOR:
Balanced nicely between the malt roastiness a bit of bitterness, and the coffee/caramel/fruit notes. |
PALATE:
Medium body, seems to be a bit dry (maybe compared to the Stone 12th), flavors linger wonderfully. |
OVERALL:
This is an “ager" . . . hold on to it for sure! |

Black, light tan head, low head retention. |

Roasted malt, coffee, some cocoa, biscuity/toasted. |

Roast-Barley, coffee, dark toffee flavors, trace alcohol heat slight sharpness on the finish. Some very light hop flavor. Some breadiness. |

Full, bitter end. Slightly sharp. |
OVERALL:
This beer is excellent right now! |
|
|

John Egan
