APPEARANCE:
Opaque with a dark tan head. |
AROMA:
Very roasty with some currant/raisin and licorice notes. |
FLAVOR:
As you might guess – very roasty and bitter from roasted barley – smoky black roastiness! (In a good way) |
PALATE:
Very full-bodied, long lingering finish of roast and dark candied fruit with alcohol. |
OVERALL:
Needs more time…. |

Deep, deep, deep. |
AROMA:
Big aroma: HUGE chocolate roasty aroma with a dark rich fruit quality (holiday fruitcake without the spices). |
FLAVOR:
Rich with very deep and dark roasted malts and slight metallic notes. |
PALATE:
Time has given this beer more complexity and it is SO deep. |

APPEARANCE:
Black as night (although bright) with a nice tan head with a tinge of purple in it…yes purple… |
AROMA:
Burnt toast, coffee, caramel, and molasses |
FLAVOR:
Very complex: hints of chocolate, with plums and raisins. |
PALATE:
Full, huge body that wraps your tongue like a warm, wet, sweet, malty, burnt blanket. |
OVERALL:
Just a kick-ass beer…stunning in looks and tastes. |

FLAVOR:
Flavors come on strong: big chocolate, roastiness, and a lingering complex fruit palate…Oh My God! |
PALATE:
Thick mouthfeel and big alcohol – I love it. |
OVERALL:
Serve with chocolate covered cherries or anything like that…great beer! |

APPEARANCE:
Really nice creamy head on an opaque black brew. |
AROMA:
Lots of grain, malt, hops and vanilla. Seems stale after open a few minutes? |
FLAVOR:
Chocolate ice cream with coffee caramel. |
PALATE:
Very soft, full round mouthfeel. |
OVERALL:
This beer is aging very nicely – rounding out – softening the burnt edges with caramel character. |
